Climate change bill has passed a senate panel

UPDATE CORRECTION: Thanks to reader Kurt9, who pointed out that I had been too hasty in reading the Forbes article. It has only passed a panel and not been passed in the Senate. Current handicapping is that it will not get 60 votes in the Senate

The UK Guardian has their take on it

The Lieberman/Warner climate change bill passed a senate panel today. This is the one which if passed could triple nuclear and renewables by 2030. This is good and hopefully it can pass the larger senate and house. Bush might not veto it because it has business support.

Here is my past coverage on the bill

My coverage of the similar Lieberman/McCain climate bill which had EIA analysis

The climate change will massively boost nuclear and renewables and reduce coal usage
