As of Dec 27, 2007 the Burj Dubai is 598.5 meters tall and 158 stories. It will end up over 800 meters tall including its antenna. These supertall skyscrapers are taking 4-5 years to complete.
Burj Dubai’s last two milestones will be to surpass the 628.8 m (2,063 ft) height of the KVLY-TV Mast in North Dakota, United States to become the world’s tallest structure and to pass the Warsaw radio mast in Gąbin, Poland (646.4 m (2,121 ft) until it collapsed in 1991) to become the world’s tallest structure of any type ever built.
Skyscraper profiles
Another skyscraper that seems likely to be built is the Al Burj The secrecy behind Al Burj’s height originally suggested that it will also try to compete for this title and rumours even suggest it will break the 1,000 m (3,281 ft) mark. There is talk that it will be 1200 meters (3900 ft) tall. 5,295,800 to 6 million sq ft of mixed use development.

Burj Mubarak al-Kabir is another proposed 1000+ meter tall building It would be part of a massive $85 billion development in Kuwait.

The Murjan City Tallest Tower is a supertall skyscraper planned to be built in Bahrain. The tallest tower is currently planned to be 1,022m high. The 9.3 million square metre edifice aims to be “the most luxurious ever built”, and is also intended to contain what the developer considers the world’s largest shopping mall.

Sky City 1000 is a building 1,000 meters (3,280.8 feet) tall and 400 meters (1,312 feet) wide at the base, and a total floor area of 8 km² (3.1 miles² or 1976.8 acres). Sky City 1000 is a possible future urban project aimed at helping put an end to major congestion and lack of green space in the Tokyo, Japan ward area.
The Shimizu TRY 2004 Mega-City Pyramid is a proposed project for construction of a massive pyramid over Tokyo Bay in Japan. The structure would be 12 times higher than the Great Pyramid at Giza, and would house 750,000 people. If built, it will be the largest man-made structure on Earth. The structure would be 2,004 meters (6,575 feet) high and would answer Tokyo’s increasing lack of space.

The X-Seed 4000 is the tallest building ever fully envisioned, meaning that the designs for construction have been completed. Its proposed 4 kilometer (13,123 foot) height, 6 kilometre wide sea-base, and 800 floor capacity could accommodate five hundred thousand to one million inhabitants. The purpose of the plan was to earn some recognition for the firm, and it worked. It was never intended to be built.
