Nuclear electricity generation a bit ahead of 2009 for OECD and Japan doing especially well

1. IEA has electricity statistics for the OECD up to August, 2010. Nuclear generation was 1449.9 Twh for the first 8 months which is 0.9% more than in 2009 and about at the level of 2008.

2. Japan’s nuclear generation for October was 11.4% over 2009 and for September was 4.2% more than the same month in 2009.

3. USA – For September 2010, nuclear generation was 69.3 billion kilowatt-hours compared to 65.9 billion kWh in September 2009. The average capacity factor for September 2010 was 95.5% compared to 90.9% in September 2009. Year-to-date 2010 nuclear generation is 0.2% behind the same period in 2009.
