Unmanned long range bomber and unmanned anti-submarine vehicle

1. The US Air Force has the go-ahead to begin developing a new stealthy, nuclear-capable bomber that will be built using existing technologies. The goal is to field long-range aircraft that can fly with or without a pilot in the cockpit.

2. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and Northrop Grumman Corp. will develop an unmanned anti-submarine vessel, leading the way for a new class of ocean-going unmanned surface vessels (USVs). DARPA has provided $2 million in funding.

Northrop Grumman will develop a concept, specifications and a manufacturing plan for an autonomous vessel by the end of March which can do tracking, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance.
