US crude oil production could hit production records in the Summer of 2014 not seen since 1984

US crude oil production hit another post-1986 production record with 8.592 million barrels per day.

North Dakota is expecting to add about 200,000 barrels per day in crude oil production from June, July and August.

If there is a similar oil production surge from the Texas oil fields then the US could break 9 million barrels per day by September, 2014. This would be more than any year since the mid-1970s. In 1970, there was a peak of 9.637 million barrels per day.
