According to the team, a collaboration between Indian, Italian, and North American researchers at the International School for Advanced Studies (SISSA) in Italy, the central halo of our galaxy may harbor enough dark matter to support the creation and sustenance of a “stable and navigable” shortcut to a distant region of spacetime – a phenomenon known as a wormhole. They believe wormholes could exist in most spiral galaxies.

Last week was a good one for exoplanet enthusiasts, with yet more news relating to how other worlds are now being found by the thousands, and that there may be many habitable planets out there. Now there’s already another discovery being announced of three more planets almost the same size as Earth, all orbiting a nearby star.
The star, EPIC 201367065, is a red M-dwarf star cooler than our Sun and about half the size and mass. Only 150 light-years away, it is one of the 10 closest stars known to have transiting exoplanets.

Nextbigfuture – Space Exploration Technologies (SpaceX) has raised a billion dollars in a financing round with two new investors, Google and Fidelity. They join existing investors Founders Fund, Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Valor Equity Partners and Capricorn. Google and Fidelity will collectively own just under 10% of the company.
SpaceX designs, manufactures, and launches the world’s most advanced rockets and spacecraft. This funding will be used to support continued innovation in the areas of space transport, reusability, and satellite manufacturing.
It is believed that the Spacex satellite network would have up to 4000 smaller mass produced satellites that would fly at about 700 kilometers for faster response and communication speeds.
Nextbigfuture – Musk said it will take many, many years to have his global satellite Internet service up and running. “People should not expect this to be active sooner than five years,” he said. And it’ll be expensive: Around $10 billion to build, he says. “But we see it as a long-term revenue source for SpaceX to be able to fund a city on Mars.”
Elon says “”It will be important for Mars to have a global communications network as well. I think this needs to be done and I don’t see anyone else doing it. .”
The global satellite internet network could fund cities on Mars.
Nextbigfuture – According to an earlier report by China News Service, Liang Xiaohong, deputy head of the China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology, disclosed that the Long March-9 is planned to have a maximum payload of 130 tons and its first launch will take place around 2028.
China is discussing the technological feasibility and requirements of the Long March-9, and research on the solutions to some technical difficulties have started”” said Li Tongyu, head of aerospace products at the China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology.
