1000 HP electric concept car shown by Faraday Future

Faraday Future showed off an electric supercar concept car at CES 2016.

Faraday Future has been operating for 18 months now in stealth mode in Los Angeles, the team has quietly grown to 750, many of them poached from auto and tech giants such as Tesla, BMW and Apple.

The company is largely funded by Chinese billionaire Jia Yueting.

Faraday says they see this vehicle as more of a “car of concepts” than just a singular concept car. Along with the FFZERO1, the company revealed a variable platform architecture (VPA) — the concept being that they build the base platform of the car once, and then adapt it for different form factors of cars. In theory, the base used in that 1,000 horsepower concept car pictured above could be lifted a bit and turned into something resembling an SUV.

Faraday Future recently announced a they plan to build a new, state-of-the-art automotive production plant in the very near future in Nevada. Faraday Future is ready to invest $1 billion into the first phase of this facility, to-be-built in Clark County’s Apex Industrial Park, a prosperous new development zone offering amenities perfect for environmentally-conscious companies.

Faraday Future secured 335 million dollars in incentives from the State of Nevada for its new billion dollar manufacturing facility.

They hope to be producing cars by 2017.
