Cosmic-ray muon radiography of Pyramid finds 100 meter long void

Nature – Discovery of a big void in Khufu’s Pyramid by observation of cosmic-ray muons

The Great Pyramid or Khufu’s Pyramid was built on the Giza Plateau (Egypt) during the IVth dynasty by the pharaoh Khufu (Cheops), who reigned from 2509 to 2483 BC1. Despite being one of the oldest and largest monuments on Earth, there is no consensus about how it was built. To better understand its internal structure, we imaged the pyramid using muons, which are by-products of cosmic rays that are only partially absorbed by stone. The resulting cosmic-ray muon radiography allows us to visualize the known and potentially unknown voids in the pyramid in a non-invasive way. Here we report the discovery of a large void (with a cross section similar to the Grand Gallery and a length of 30 m minimum) above the Grand Gallery, which constitutes the first major inner structure found in the Great Pyramid since the 19th century 1. This void, named ScanPyramids Big Void, was first observed with nuclear emulsion films installed in the Queen’s chamber (Nagoya University), then confirmed with scintillator hodoscopes set up in the same chamber (KEK) and re-confirmed with gas detectors outside of the pyramid (CEA). This large void has therefore been detected with a high confidence by three different muon detection technologies and three independent analyses. These results constitute a breakthrough for the understanding of Khufu’s Pyramid and its internal structure. While there is currently no information about the role of this void, these findings show how modern particle physics can shed new light on the world’s archaeological heritage.

They were exploring the option of drilling a hole a little over an inch across into the pyramid and sending in a flying robot to look around.

  1. That is the chamber that holds the Stargate. As we all know from Wormhole Physics, a field pioneered by Major Samantha Carter, whenever a wormhole is established, it creates a pocket or “void” until the event horizon stabilizes. Probably you will find several Jaf’ah in there, long dead along with a DHD and a Stargate.

  2. Here is a good theory put forward by a user named “Tammy” on the yahoo news story:

“It’s most likely a spot of low density in the fill. For those who don’t understand that; The inner and outer structural walls are solid and finished to a presentable standard. Everything in was filled with loose rubble. Not every stone in there fits like you see from the outside. It’s basically just very large gravel. And no one was ever buried inside a pyramid. All of the Pharaohs were buried in the Valley of the Kings. The chambers were named such long ago out of ignorance. Scholars know better these days but for some baffling reason they hold on to antiquated ideas that have been proven false.”

I think that, IF they actually have a signal on their BS detectors (big if), then it is likely as “Tammy” says. Very misleading to say there is a “void”.

      • I’ll note that this void, or low density area, or whatever, is exactly where you would want such a thing to reduce the stress on the roof of the Grand Gallery.

    • There are sarcophagi in the pyramids, Pharaohs were probably actually buried in them, but were looted over the centuries, or moved to the Valley of the Kings.

They are careful to call it a void, which could be an area of collapsed rock or other opening, as opposed to a chamber. The press wanted to say “secret chamber”, and the researchers specifically said not to use that term. This space has been confirmed using 3 different techniques, so I’m thinking the experts probably know more about it than you do.

    • Because calling it the “Might be Kufu but we aren’t sure and there are competing theories with different supporting evidence pyramid” is a trifle clumsy.

  3. Go and try to find a reconstructed image of their data. All you’ll find is pop science pictures of a blob superimposed on the pyramid (or reactor or whatever they’re looking at). It’s amazing what passes forward radiography these days. This is a scam science based on leaving a “drift tube” in place for weeks and vector reconstructing the background radiation. If they’re seeing anything, it could just be limestone from an odd end of the quarry tickling their instruments more then the rest of the stone. Got to love this strangely penetrating radiation that selectively interacts with their proportional counters. At least they’re not trying to detect neutrinos.
