The tugboat, named Mr. Steven, was tried to catch the fairing of the SpaceX Falcon 9 launch. They missed the fairing.
Elon Musk tweeted that the fairing missed the net by a few hundred meters but landed intact in the water. Elon said they “Should be able catch it with slightly bigger chutes to slow down descent.”
Elon indicated the fairing has onboard thrusters and a guidance system to bring it through the atmosphere intact, then releases a parafoil and our ship, named Mr. Steven, with basically a giant catcher’s mitt welded on, tries to catch it.
