BitGuild Successfully Raises $20 million from the founder of TRON and other blockchain experts

Decentralized gaming platform, BitGuild, announces successful funding of their ICO pre-sale. The funding totaled over $20 million and was raised from supporters like Justin Sun of TRON, as well as multiple other backers.

“BitGuild is at the forefront of blockchain gaming technology, and they stand for everything I believe in. Happy to be part of something that has the potential to change the gaming industry as we know it,” states TRON’s Justin Sun.

BitGuild aims to solve the inherent problems faced by players and game companies by developing a blockchain platform that tokenizes characters, items, and in-game assets. The players will literally own their in-game inventories, and will be able to trade them, transfer them between different games, and maintain their progress even if a favorite game gets shut down.

The currency, PLAT, will be used by gamers and developers alike, with smart contracts being used to complete transactions. Devs will be able to avoid high fees and receive quick payouts, while gamers can use the currency to buy in-game items and services from a PLAT-based Auction House.

BitGuild is led by Jared Psigoda, a veteran of the gaming and virtual currency industries. Before founding BitGuild, Psigoda was CEO and co-founder of Reality Squared Games, a successful video game company with more than 80 million registered players. He took it public in Asia in 2016. He has since founded Livestar, a development studio focused on bringing live streaming and other social media apps to a global audience.
