China accidentally bombs a Chinese town with the first stage of a rocket launch

China launched Long March 2C lifted off from Xichang but the first stage fell on land in Niuchang town, part of Fuquan city in Guizhou, according to a video posted on the Chinese social media platform Sina Weibo.

China has had 18 successful space launches so far in 2018.

Andrew Jones of Global Times has tweeted out the video.

China’s Xinhua says there were no casualties.

Guizhou is adjacent to Sichuan, so the rocket stage would have fallen a few hundred miles away.

China routinely evacuates areas down range from inland rocket launches.
