By 2030, China wants to build the Long March-9 rocket to carry 140 tonnes into low-Earth orbit. This will be almost as powerful as a SpaceX Falcon BFR.
China’s Long March-9 would have a core stage measuring 10 meters (33 feet) in diameter and four side boosters, each with a diameter of five meters.
China is planning its first manned mission to the Moon would be launched in 2031-3. The moon mission will likely use the Long March-9.
China is working on a reusable space rocket, which is expected to have its first flight in 2021.
SpaceX and the USA will keep a lead with the SpaceX Falcon BFR. It will be fully reusable and be able to launch 150 tons into low earth orbit. It should be ready by 2022-2024
