Star Trek Discovery Plagiarized a 2014 Video Game Story line

CBS is being sued for plagiarism over Star Trek Discovery.

Tardigrades Dev is a game that was announced and submitted onto Steam Greenlight in November, 2014.

A blog post from October 2017, describes multiple similar characters. Two gay characters that look like the actors cast in those roles.

There are a lot of similarities but the Video game is not finished and seems obscure. Tardigrades are known to be the only animal that can survive in space.

The giant tardigrades are in both to instantly teleport across the galaxy.

CBS chose the timeframe and Klingon conflict based upon what Star Trek Axanar was doing.

  1. the more money that they make from the show the more money this developer receives when he inevitably wins. So I was originally not going to watch it but now I am

  2. Just another reason to h8 this show. A Star Trek show based on Fan Fiction and produced by fans would have better story quality. No beef with the show actors … just the writers and producers.

  3. I am so unimpressed with ST Discovery that confirming that it was a big steal from a weird little indie computer game wouldn’t surprise me. We already know the only reason it is placed where it is in the timeline was because they hoped to stomp on Axanar with their giant orc–oops, I mean ‘Klingon’–boots

  4. And they looked for the apparent most oddball, fruit-cake indie game ever to plagiarize. Probably they thought that being sufficiently obscure, no one would notice.

  8. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha SDC is a fake!

  9. On the contrary being so mind-bendingly weird and obscure makes the plagiarism stand out all the more. We aren’t talking about Newton and Leibniz both creating calculus…. we are talking about human sized Tardigrades enabling instant transportation for identical characters. Yep they stole it. No WAY a plot that bizarre and awful was independently created by the CBS Brain Trust. Funny thing is that CBS even copied the lame suckiness of the video game.

  12. The tardigrade spore drive thing was one of the sillier things that Star Trek has come up with. I could see introducing some mysterious exotic race that uses the tardigrades and spores for propulsion but for Starfleet to have a ship that runs on giant water bears tripping on space mushrooms is a little bit out there. Then they have this very basic shower stall looking thing that you go into to hot box with the space mushrooms and then you get so high that you become master of time and space. Is this Lord of the Rings or Star Trek?

  14. Is that to say that only people who don’t make their dislike of a certain U.S. president into the core reason for their existence would dislike it? And that those who want to bring discussion of that politician into everything they do or say, no matter how incongruous the subject at hand, will automatically like it? This proliferation of “If you are not for us, then you are against us” mentalities has to be one of the most dangerous things around, no matter what it is they believe. Whether it’s a cognitive disorder, or a deliberate tactic, they completely disregard what Tolkien, as Treebeard, may have said best: “I am not altogether on anybody’s side, because nobody is altogether on my side . . .
