Aging Reversal is a real thing

George Church has a stealth startup Rejuvenate Bio that is working on reversing about 60 different age related factors. There is unpublished work on mice with eyepopping results and they have begun genetic engineering aging reversal on dogs. Human aging reversal could be commercialized by 2025.

He discussed the reversing of aging in January 2018. There was restoring bone and partially reprogramming stem cells for aging reversal effects.

  1. Getting us to survive with our bodies aged past the age of 115 would take something more. If our bodies stop aging (or even reverse their aging) well before that point then it might become a non-issue. Even if it is not, 115 is probably 40 to 80 years away for most of us reading this. Plenty of time for more progress if we can each get at least that far. Do I want to live forever? Perhaps not, but I just can’t imagine a day where, if I had the option of being of making sure I stayed healthy and fit, I would refuse it. Nor can I imagine a day where, if I woke up feeling healthy and fit, I would voluntarily decide to cancel whatever was keeping me that way. The day will come when death by aging will be perceived as something terrible, like ancient man dying before the age of thirty due to minor injuries or illnesses, or people in Chad today having an average life expectancy of under 50. People born in that future time will probably look back at us and marvel that we were born, had children, and died . . . all while we were still children ourselves. And this might happen in our lifetimes. People who are now “middle-aged” (at least in developed countries) might be the last generation to watch their parents wither and die involuntarily. Not to worry, most us won’t make it past a thousand, even if we don’t succumb to ennui, as it is still a dangerous world out there.

  6. Ok, lets try this again with whitespaces in the links: “Our observations constitute an initial proof of principle for in vivo regeneration of an entire three-dimensional tissue like the skin, not just individual cell types as previously shown,” says Dr. Izpisua Belmonte. “This knowledge might not only be useful for enhancing skin repair but could also serve to guide in vivo regenerative strategies in other human pathological situations, as well as during aging, in which tissue repair is impaired.” www.fightaging.org/archives/2018/09/reprogramming-cells-into-keratinocytes-turns-non-healing-wounds-into-skin/ www.salk.edu/news-release/the-alchemy-of-healing-researchers-turn-open-wounds-into-skin/

  10. This is indeed positive, but curing diseases will get us all to 90-100 years old – getting us past 115 will still take something more.

  12. I have worked in age research labs and medical centers most my adult life. The moment I realized there was something to this was when I personally witnessed a rat being cured of metastasized cancer. He was one of several test subjects, induced with cancer and eventually covered in horrible tumors. After a Hunter-Killer Peptide was induced he gradually began to clear up. That was around 2001. Now it is 2018, and a good friend of mine was diagnosed last February with a deadly leukemia. He was given 6 months to live. However, after T-CARR therapy he is now cured. From a death sentence to cured in 6 months is fairly astonishing! They were even able to change his blood type. Who would have known these advances would start coming so fast? In the past, it was said there will never be a panacea in the advancement of mankind but Brian’s site proves that slow gradual progress is no longer the paradigm. Today, I’m seeing something entirely different. Cancers, small viruses, Hep C, HIV are all being knocked down. I believe we are seeing a convergence driven by information sharing on a level unprecedented in history. It is truly a remarkable thing to witness…

  14. Good news. All these advances seem to always be like 10 years in the future at least. 7 years is certainly progress! As I said before, this can very well be the biggest social change ever. Changing all of society’s expectations about life and aging, and allowing most of those alive today to participate in the other future upcoming changes. And not a moment too soon, given we are already seeing a crisis coming from lower birthrates in many places. Something that can be remediated or solved by having people remain for longer, preferably far longer.
