DC movie universe reboot

The next Wonder Woman movie will apparently be used to perform a reboot of the DC movie universe. There will be new actors cast for Batman and Superman.

Ben Affleck is in rehab for his alcoholism. Ben has been Batman in two movies.

Henry Cavill has been Superman. Henry was fighting Warner Brothers over his salary.

  1. A “reboot” in comics terms doesn’t mean a change of actors. It means a destruction of continuity, that you’re changing key plot elements and story history. Like Thor is suddenly a woman, or Aquaman is suddenly a he-man type. I’m hoping they’re just changing actors. “Reboots” usually suck big time. Still hoping for Ambush Bug, the movie.

  3. DC really sucks at this. The only good thing they did were the Dark Knight series, then couldn’t find a means to get Christian Bale to reprise his role in the greater DC universe. I know there were contracts and money issues, but a good organization works those things out for the greater good of more money

  4. I’m pretty sure they need to reboot and install a different OS. Note to Hollywood: Stop taking a dump on people’s childhoods.

  8. Which is why Star Trek/Star Wars are dead/dying franchises. The Hollywood playbook seems to be: Step 1: give writers/directors/actors who are unfamiliar with a franchise full creative control Step 2: writers/directors determine key aspects of what is good about the franchise Step 3: writers/directors take a dump on good parts Step 4: writers/actors hop on twitter talk trash about half of audience Step 5: blame audience when nobody watches Step 6: goto 1; For Trek this looked like: Step 1: hire noob writers, have studio manager who doesn’t “get trek” Step 2: Trekkies like warp drive, Klingons Step 3: take a dump on warp drive by making spore drive, take a dump on klingons by turning them in to Snickers bars Step 4: Snicker bar Klingons are meant to be retrograde Trump voters. Step 5: Shocked that Netflix isn’t happy that they paid for a season of this garbage

  9. That’s all hollyWEIRD knows how to do is reboot. The entire movie industry needs a reboot. All they know how to do is churn out the same thing over and over. I usually watch a new movie, and about 1/3 of the time a part II version, but almost NEVER watch anything past part II as they usually are nothing more than the same blow stuff up, slo-mo crap they’ve been spitting out for years.

  13. DCEU is clearly one of the alternate universes where the *real* Justice league shows up and fixes things.

  15. Blowing stuff up in slow motion is the BEST part of big hollywood movies. What else do they have? Plot? Dialogue? Characters? Brilliant political messages where the orc king turns out to have thick blond hair and is surprisingly evil? Slow motion explosions are it. And slow motion kicks to the head. Having said, that, I just saw Deadpool 2 and I liked the Characters and Dialogue. Plot was nothing we haven’t seen in every action story since Homer was writing fan fiction in ancient Greece.
