Loki, Falcon and Winters Soldier heading to Disney Streaming

Marvel Avengers and characters who are below solo-movie popularity will get Disney streaming TV series.

Loki, Scarlet Witch, Vision, Falcon and Winters Soldier are headed to streaming TV shows.

Marvel and Disney are preparing multiple limited series centered on characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Characters like Loki and Scarlet Witch will have their own limited series. The series are expected to be six to eight episodes.

The series on the Disney streaming service will be produced by Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige, who has headed up the MCU for years. The shows are also expected to have large budgets compared to other television projects.

  1. What about Black Widow – isn’t she getting a solo movie? TV series probably gives you more exposure than a movie, though. What I notice is that Loki is more popular among women than guys. Goth chicks seem to dig him the most, because he has the right look for them.

  3. Much the same thing could be said about Deadpool, and he’s had two movies so far.And Loki has canon stories written over the past 1000 years. You can do ANYTHING with that character.

  4. I’m not so sure Loki is a below solo movie in popularity character. He is used mostly in the MCU in a supporting role. But he has a vast and loyal fanbase. TPTB at Marvel may hesitate to give him is own movie more because he is NOT an Avenger or hero type. More someone who walks the line between good and evil and is known to change sides as to which gives him the best advantage. And as good as Tom Hiddleston is as Loki it’s the Marvel Comic Universe that makes much better use of the character anf throws him into some unique and interesting stories on his own. I find that the Marvel Cinematic Universe tends to dumb down both his intellect and his powers/abilities. He could have been so much more and even more interesting as both a character in general and more importantly, as a villain.
