Highest Thrust Ever for a SpaceX Engine from Raptor at 60% Power

Spacex placed a photo of the Starship raptor engine test on Instagram. SpaceX reported that they completed a two-second test fire of the Starship Raptor engine that hit 170 bar and ~116 metric tons of force – the highest thrust ever from a SpaceX engine and Raptor was at ~60% power.

There will be three Raptor engines on the Starhopper. SpaceX is repairing the nose cone of the Starhopper which was blown over in high winds. They are tracking to a March launch of the Starhopper.

SciNews uploaded a video to Youtube of the Raptor engine test.

There are reports and videos of longer tests of the new Raptor engine.

  1. So much for pretending Tesla is a battery maker.

The only battery company out there with both quality and quantity are CATL and BYD, the former already signed deals with all major European automakers, and the latter is the largest EV maker in the world.

Buying batteries from either would be be humiliating.
