Tesla Gigafactory 3 Progress and an Estimate of 8000 Tesla’s Sold in China in 55 Days

烏瓦 uploaded a video of the current state of construction at the Tesla Gigafactory 3 in China. There are over a dozen large piledrivers creating the foundation for the Gigafactory 3.

Media in China reports that the Gigafactory 3 should be completed in the summer of 2019.

  1. Every foreign company doing business like this in china has had that thought on the back of their minds. They could come in anytime they feel like it and take over operations. Nothing new to see here.

  2. Sure thing. Tesla doesn’t own the land, but has use of it. And, more importantly, Tesla does not have financial close on this project, or it would have shown up in the filings, which it doesn’t. It means the Chinese state owned construction firms are paying for the construction. If Tesla can’t come to financial close the project will revert to a Chinese car company who needs batteries anyway. Technically, this isn’t even a Tesla project. The Chinese have covered their bases.
