Elon Musk indicated that the SpaceX Super Heavy Starship will have 41 raptor engines. This means that instead of 31 engines on the first stage super heavy there will be 35. There will be six engines on the second stage Starship.
Full stack is 41 rn, but kinda beggin for just one more …

not jealous as i can’t stomach scamming people for my own enrichment. just sad that so many people fall for that nonsense
Mueller led the team, which he brought over with him from TRW, where they, with cooperation with NASA, developed what would effectively become the Merlin.
‘Greatly cut cost’ is just a made up narrative spread by PR outlets like this site. They may have cut ‘prices’ for commercial missions, which tells us nothing of the costs, which they make up on hefty gov flights and according to GAO, their resupply missions are the most expensive! Gov. contracts account for about 90% of SX total funding.
At what cost do they reuse the stages? how many flights does one need to break even? how do you even run an operation cost-efficiently with huge flight number volatiliy YoY? Why do you need periodic capital/debt raises? Consider those questions.
‘get stuff done’ is meaningless without real benefits which we measure for example in dividends. he got useless stuff done. selling 1 dollar notes for 80c is not an achievement.
Fibonacci?
Falcon 9 = 1 center engine and 8 surrounding engines = 9 engines
Starship = 1 center engine and 5 surrounding engines = 6 engines
Super Heavy = 1 center engine and 5 surrounding, then 8, then 21 = 35 engines
I think the animan behaviour of ape packs are far more applicable to humans that wolf packs.
It turns out that wolves don’t actually have alpha/beta structure. But apes do.
Whether this applies to humans in 2019 is of course a completely different question. It’s probably going to apply somewhere to some subgroups, after all there are so many different human social structures.
Now you just sound jealous.
Misappropriation of pack animal husbandry, the idea that “beta/alpha” social hierarchical positions in certain animals (like wolves), can be applied to humans. For reasons far too numerous to list, they can’t. It’s basically just a new way of calling someone a pussy.
Could you tell me the origin story behind your “beta male” obsessed subculture, I’ve seen traces of it across the internet for some time now and would like to know what’s it all about. Do you have some official manifesto i could read?
If you see all 41 firing in unison, something bad has happened and SS/SH is not going into space. 6 Raptors are on the SS, and will only fire after separation from SH.
He (led a team which) greatly cut the cost of putting stuff in orbit by learning how to reuse the 1st stages of rockets. Even if he botches everything else that will still be an impressive achievement.
Those 37 were 31 for the first stage (SuperHeavy), and 6 for the second stage (StarShip).
Now it will be 35 for the first stage, and the second stage remains at 6 egines.
BB, For making no profit he sure does get a lot of stuff done. Are you sure your not a little bit envious?
When they load all 41 raptor engines into hopper, they should bring over some animals on spits to roast from the neighbors lawn across from spacex’s boca Chica facility
One raptor engine alone puts on quite a show by generating an all encompassing football field sized fireball. I can’t image 41 of them firing in unison
I have to admit nothing. Elon achieved convicing a lot of internet idiots that he is smart while talking nonsense and scam a lot of people of money. In all of his career, he made exactly 0 profit from any of his companies whiles accumulating tens of billions of combined debt. Elon achieved nothing. Any honest employee or businessmen which makes a decent living, not millions, achieved more.
most of the spacex funding comes from nasa. How is inside Elons a-hole?
Lets invest NASA Funds into SpaceX!!!!!
blare witch male?
Ha! As a confirmed 大 male I don’t have to use the greek alphabet.
This is a classic Omega Male comment. As an esteemed Epsilon male, I
Indeed, Billionaire Musk is probably jealous of you because you are a frequent commenter on this esteemed website.
“If only I could post comments like this jello guy,” says Musk.
Yep, with so many rocket engines the Musk has shown himself to be a true chairman. The blogger has already realized that.
Wait, isn’t SH up to 37 now, not 35?
Does this count as a case of More Dakka?
You have to admit that Elon has achieved more than average. Or even the 99% percentile person.
Having said that, a tweet about counting rocket motors isn’t really an achievement.
That’s exactly what I would expect a gamma male to say.
Speak for yourself there son. Not everyone is a gamma male auditioning for the role of beta male.
This is nothing but COOL! Elon Musk puts all the rest of us underachievers to shame. No wonder so many people are jealous of him. (95% are men)
