On December 30, Wenliang Li posted in a social media group about a SARS-like illness that within weeks would explode into the coronavirus epidemic that has infected more than 25,000 people. He was reprimanded by police days later for rumor-mongering online. The Chinese Supreme Court later said the police were wrong to have taken the actions they did against Li.
He was admitted to a hospital in early January and later confirmed to have the coronavirus.
Above – Dr Li posted this picture of himself from a hospital bed on 31 January – a day before he was diagnosed with coronavirus
He was one of eight early whistleblowers.
He returned to work after the police issue. He caught the virus from a patient. He had been in hospital for at least three weeks.
On 10 January he started coughing, the next day he had a fever and two days later he was in hospital. His parents also fell ill and were taken to hospital.
On 20 January, China declared the outbreak an emergency.
Dr Li says he was tested several times for coronavirus, all of them came back negative. Nucleic acid tests confirmed coronavirus on January 30.
The fact that he was young and healthy and was likely following procedures to avoid infection shows that coronavirus is a serious problem.
Dr. Li Wen-liang passed away today. He was one of the eight earliest whistle-blowers on the outbreak, but was later arrested for "spreading rumors".https://t.co/JYAxYwhlrk

Viruses have very small codes. There are only so many ways to write something. Many viruses can look like others… And whether something looks like something else can be subjective. Also the Pangolins come from Africa. They could even be the source of HIV as well. We still don’t know what animal HIV came from. We know apes can have it, but that does not mean they did not get it from some other creature.
Pangolins might have gotten this virus from some insect. Who knows? Every time someone famous dies, or a bunch of people and it is surprising, especially if it appears we could be at risk as well, there are conspiracies left and right.
Not saying there are no real conspiracies. Just that they are unlikely in the situations we think are most likely. Most conspiracies are simple and designed to make money.
He’s a doctor
He warned people
He was harassed by the police for being a “kook rumor spreader enemy of social harmony”
He was right
Not killed so much as “somehow didn’t receive adequate care, whoops our bad”.
It has a lot of HIV inserted in to it. I don’t think it was designed to be a weapon, maybe a science experiment that got loose? Either way the work to do is the same.
First responders usually fall ill because they are in near constant contact with sick people. Also he was there at the beginning before they knew what they were dealing with.
It happens and it is really sad.
From what I have read doctors don’t have the ability to test everyone. That’s why if you have a fever then you are carted off to the holding pens.
Twitter is actively censoring corona virus content. I know because I will send videos to friends and then soon afterwards twitter can’t find the content referenced by their URLs.
China must be paying twitter some serious $.
A hospital ship should have his name
What was the message on the card he was holding up?
more like killed…
but unfortunately very limited. Killing viruses in situ is easy if you have a room empty of humans, and very very difficult in larger spaces and where you have the virus in all sorts of humidity, aerosol types and other concentrations and distance situations. This applies to the “Far-HVC” applications too. Lots of promise in the lab, but the real world is so much more complex. Here is the best paper I read about the challenge.

It does not have profile you would be after as a bioweapons designer. The Russians were nuts. They made a huge array of nasty things.
Anyway, the Chinese scientests traced this one to a virus in pangolins. The Chinese have been killing these animals and grinding up their scales for moron medicine.
Almost all epidemics are caused by humans getting too involved with animals either in the course of domestication, constant hunting, or as pests.
BREAKING: In a very strage turn of events, renowned scientist Frank Plummer who received Saudi SARS Coronavirus sample and was working on Coronavirus (HIV) vaccine in the Winnipeg based Canadian lab from where the virus was (as some believe) smuggled by Chinese Biowarfare agents and weaponized as revealed in GreatGameIndia investigation, has died in mysterious conditions. Frank Plummer was the key to the Chinese Biological Espionage case at Winnipeg’s National Microbiology Laboratory.
What do you guys think of the interview where Dr. Francis Boyle states that the coronavirus is a bioweapon ?
prefferably an alex jones infowars cap with uv lights and nightvision goggles
There seems to be a lot of confusion over his demise, if that’s even true.
Adding to that is a theory that the virus is a bioweapon that originated in Canada and then escaped a Chinese Lab: https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/coronavirus-contains-hiv-insertions-stoking-fears-over-artificially-created-bioweapon
It’s pretty technical and I’m not in a position to judge, but it’s interesting that Twitter has permanently suspended Zerohedge’s account.
What’s the latest kill rate for coronavirus?
Edited:
I see it is about 2% in China
https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/coronavirus-death-rate/
I also note that 80% of the fatal cases were for elderly and 75% had other illnesses suggesting a weak immunity.
So I ask (again) just how big a deal is this coronavirus? If it starts killing healthy people on mass then we have a big problem but this is not the case, is it?
gah, these days it could go both ways, he could be very much alive but in a bad way, thus not being able to communicate much if at all, or the CCP wants people to think he is still alive when he isn’t, to defray concerns over their poor police handling. It’s not like a reuters reporter can stroll into the ICU to interview him, and how else is the outside world going to be able to confirm anything?
I dont know how the chijese can keep track of whos dead or alive when half of wuhan has the name li.
Ditto. I hope this is just a rumor.
Yeah, he died from the virus. He did something the the CCP didn’t approve; telling the truth and risking societal harmony.
Do you have any reason to suggest he’s a crank?
Or merely pointing out that this isn’t proof he was brilliant?
I think you mean this:
https://www.nextbigfuture.com/2018/02/safe-to-human-far-ultraviolet-c-light-bands-can-revolutionize-public-health-by-curbing-airborne-disease-like-flu.html
It does indeed look HIGHLY applicable.
CNN claims that he is alive. Multiple state media outlets including Global Times and People’s Daily, the ruling Communist Party’s official newspaper, had earlier said Li had died, but later deleted their reports. https://www.cnn.com/2020/02/06/asia/li-wenliang-coronavirus-whistleblower-doctor-dies-intl/index.html
He was a doctor and saw the test results that there were coronavirus infections in the hospital he was working in. Well some virus testing positive as SARS…which turned out to be slightly different.
And he was not yelling at the top of his lungs stopping traffic or something.
I hope that is the case. Could even be the Chinese government, spreading the rumors to try to push their point about rumors. To push the tide back their direction.
I was really hoping this guy might be a voice in China getting them to relax their Don’t-say-anything-that-could be-taken-as-a-problem-in-China, lunacy.
Now…more of a martyr.
Troubling that their previous tests on him did not work. Makes me wonder how many others are erroneously testing negative after feeling ill, and then just going on with their lives, thinking they did not get it, possibly spreading the disease more widely.
Young? Healthy? And a doctor following infectious disease protocols? And he’s dead. Not good at all. I have a bad feeling. But..Is his death really confirmed?
A person could wear a UV lamp on his head and kill all germ in breathing air and on the thing he touches.
Several months ago there was an NBF post about a narrow band UV light that would kill microbes on surfaces without harming humans.
Would this help prevent the spread of viruses like the corona virus?
Daily Mail is claiming he is very much alive, despite false reports circulating that he is dead
You never know when some crank will turn out to be correct.
A pity. The guy was a hero of medicine.
Quite sad. He didn’t deserve this.
