Serbia and Kosovo have committed to economic normalization. By focusing on job creation and economic growth, the two countries were able to reach a real breakthrough on economic cooperation across a broad range of issues.
Kosovo and Israel have agreed to normalization of ties and the establishment of diplomatic relations. Serbia has committed to opening a commercial office in Jerusalem this month and to move its embassy to Jerusalem by July.
Kosovo has a population of 1.8 million people. There was a war in 1998-1999 where Kosovo split from Yugoslavia. Kosovo is 95% Muslim (mainly Sunni).
Serbia has almost 7 million people.
Israel has 9.2 million people.

I suppose it could have just been something long in the works…but the tag-on of moving an embassy to Jerusalem seemed oddly disconnected. Seems like the US said "OK, if you two will agree, we'll give you X, but you also have to agree to this Jerusalem thing".

There used to be a huge difference in the legal status of children depending on whether the parents were married. Official normalization is similar. Sometimes it is just optics and sometimes it determines who inherits the Duchy.
Yes, but there is a reason why the dehumanization is started. From the article about prof. Gunnar Heinsohn:

How does this comment make any sense? Kosovo was conquered by the Ottoman Turks in the 15th century and then conquered by the Serbs in 1912?? Are you referring to the subsequent Serbian colonization? How was that “uncontrolled” when the Serbs were in control?
Fine, I was a bit too sarcastic, because article is off topic and a blip in the world news stream.
It was a normalization deal. Mainly between Kosovo and Serbia. The Peace aspect was between Kosovo and Serbia. But there was normalization between Kosovo-Serbia and Israel. I did not toss Israel into the mix that was part of the White House supported agreement.
Soo… was the whole point of brokering this deal to get an embassy moved to Jerusalem?
Kosovo is what happens when you allow uncontrolled immigration. You end up losing territory. This scenario has been played out countless times throughout history.

I find this “peace agreement” between Israel, Serbia and Kosovo Rather perplexing. As an Israeli, I am not aware of any hostilities, let alone war, between Israel and these two countries. The recent agreement between Israel and the UAE is also mostly fake: Israel had business relations and de-facto peace with the UAE since President Linton and Prime Minister Rabin in the 1990-s.
Commerce can be "real", a part of reality. Can get crazy, too. When one group of us Africans tries to make another the *other*, it shows a level of ignorance that is beyond mere mis understanding. We are too closely related for species health.
It's amazing what one can accomplish when you stop trying to dehumanize your enemy, and instead, engage in commerce.
