Tesla China Car Sales Strong in February

In February, 2021, 97,000 electric cars were sold in China according to China Passenger Car Association ( CPCA). This was up 7X from COVID February 2020 but a 38% decline from January. Tesla sold 18,318 Shanghai-made Model 3s and Model Ys last month. Tesla produced 23,632 cars in China in February.

Chinese new year shut down the Tesla factory in China for one week. Gigafactory Shanghai was only in operation for 21 days.

Tesla sold 15,484 Model 3 in China in January, 2021.

Car sales are usually weakest in the first quarter of the year.

The Dec, 2020 end of year surged to 23,804. December is usually the strongest month for car sales.
