Tesla AI Day Part 1

The Tesla AI Day presentation is starting.

Elon has started out by asking for people who want to solve real world AI at the hardware or software level to apply to Tesla.

Andrej Karpathy, the director of artificial intelligence and Autopilot Vision at Tesla, is now giving a technical deep dive into the Autopilot stack.

The current state of the Tesla Autopilot is fusing cameras and sensors. They create a vector space from video. There are opportunities to fuse time and space earlier. The outputs are dense rasters. They can look at creating more sparse structures for greater speed and efficiency.

Planning control is placed on top of the Vision AI system.

There is the gathering and labeling of data.

Next there is simulation and other real world AI applications.
