Whether LK-99 is superconductor mainly hinges on it having zero resistivity and the work getting confirmed and replicated. This zero resistance was shown in data at a material science conference in Korea on July 27, 2023.

The paper did not claim superconducting resistance in bulk samples. They claimed it for the thin films.

What is the worry? There is no danger of this being mistakenly abandoned by the world if there is substance to the claim. Korean samples just need to be sent to independent testers.
There are some very impressive researchers on both sides of this discovery/hoax. Until a sample is produced that can be verified by multiple scientists (with no bias), then everyone should be a little skeptical…
Where was the levitation?
The lab(s) that does NOT quit LK99 now will be the one aside from the original team that makes history. And the ones who quit will make history they don’t want to make.
