Tesla Strong China Sales and EVs Have Passed S Curve Adoption Tipping Point

Tesla had strong August China sales and electric vehicles have passed the tipping point in s-curve adoption.

There are a few different tipping points for s-curve adoption (5% market share, 10% and 15%).

EVs have passed a crucial tipping point in 23 countries signaling the start of mass adoption. Once sales hit a 5% inflection point, countries have seen rapid rates of adoption.

China August 2023 wholesale numbers for top three makers are:
#1 BYD: 274,086 (half of BYD sales are hybrid and half are full electric)
#2 Tesla: 84,159
#3 GAC Aion: 52,057
