It is the world’s first LFP battery to support 4C charging. C refers to the charging multiplier of the battery, and 4C means that the battery can theoretically be fully charged in a quarter of an hour. Electric cars can add 400 kilometers (240 miles) of range in 10 minutes of charging time.

In 2022, LFP batteries had a market share of just under 30%. In just two years, LFP batteries increased their presence from 6% in 2020 to 30% in 2022.
China has been making almost all of the iron LFP batteries. There is a battery glut is partly due to softening EV sales, but also due to a rush into battery production. From January through May 2023, 233.5 GWh were produced, while only 119.2 GWh were installed in EVs.

Massive battery requirements in large scale energy storage, see Tesla Megapack as a example.
This last stat in Brian’s article is amazing and shocking. “From January through May 2023, 233.5 GWh were produced, while only 119.2 GWh were installed in EVs”. Where else are battery packs being used? Does this include phone and laptop batteries? If photos show up on the net of unused battery packs stacked to the rafters of a giant warehouse , which battery maker stocks should I short?
