During the Cosmoverse 2023 conference held in Istanbul, Turkey on Monday, October 2, Namada, the asset-agnostic, multi-chain privacy network, introduced new initiatives set to be implemented in the coming months. Top of the list includes the long-awaited $ATOM airdrop for ATOM holders, the launch of incentivized testnets, and the launch of Namada’s upgraded website.
Namada is an asset-agnostic multi-chain privacy and security protocol, developed by Heliax, a blockchain and research firm focused on IBC-enabled architecture. Speaking at the Istanbul conference, Head of Community at Heliax, Park Feierbach, shared that all ATOM holders (whether holding with a custodial service or non-custodial holdings) will receive an airdrop to their wallets.
While Park did not give the specifics on the date of the airdrop, she confirmed that the airdrop is expected to drive Web 3 masses to Namada, helping in the testnet period, as the community awaits the mainnet launch. The conference provided the Cosmos community with a glimpse of the capabilities that Namada offers and its unique architectural and functional features.
Apart from the token airdrops, Park also introduced the incentivized testnets, designed to reward contributors, and the community, and bolster community engagement. The incentivized testnets will help the platform complete rigorous testing on the platform, as they await the mainnet launch.
The platform revolutionizes the privacy models currently on conventional blockchains by pioneering modular privacy through key architectural components like its Unified Shielded Set and Shielded Actions. These features allow users, tokens, DApps, platforms, and blockchains to introduce account privacy features even if the platform, asset or DApp inherently lack privacy functionalities.
“Within the current IBC-connected landscape, no existing solution allows for privacy between zones; there is no Privacy across the Cosmos,” Park Feierbach, Head of Community at Heliax stated. “Namada aims to fill this gap, steering the Cosmos ecosystem toward an era where privacy can become a choice to reveal oneself rather than one to conceal.”
Since the public testnet phase launched, Namada has completed several rigorous tests, drawing participation from over 200 institutional and individual validators. Additionally, in December, the team spearheaded the largest rusted setup ceremony at its time, involving a total of 2,510 participants.
