The Israel Defense Force has announced the beginning of Offensive Ground Operations against the City of Rafah in Southern Gaza, with the Spokesman stating that IDF Troops are now “Striking and Operating” against Hamas Targets in Eastern Rafah.

It makes a lot of sense for them to start limited attacks in Eastern Rafah. The evacuation area is to the northwest of Rafah so anyone running away from the fighting would tend to run towards the camp set up for evacuees.
