SpaceX Polaris Dawn’s Return and Splashdown off the Cost of Florida

SpaceX launched and returned commercial astronauts in the first crewed Polar mission and that mission included a space walk.

Three countries (US, Russia and China) have performed Spacewalks on their own with their own rocket own facilities. The European Space Agency has not launched crewed mission or missions to the ISS.

Astronauts from 12 countries have performed spacewalks but with support from US or Russia usually. These countries include:

United States
Russia (formerly Soviet Union)
China
Canada
Japan
European countries (through the European Space Agency, representing nations like Germany, France, Italy, and others)
United Arab Emirates
Saudi Arabia (through the Saudi Arabian astronaut with NASA)
South Korea
Malaysia (via the Angkasawan program with Russia)
Iran (through an Iranian-American astronaut with NASA)
South Africa (via an astronaut of South African descent with NASA)

This list reflects the diversity of space exploration, with astronauts from various nations contributing to spacewalks, either directly through their national space programs or through international collaborations like those with NASA, Roscosmos, or the European Space Agency (ESA).

  1. All I saw in a video was one astronaut poking her head briefly out of the hatch area, not a full spacewalk. Did I miss something?

  3. SpaceX is a wonderful rocket company’s real asset to the
    American people, but Elon can not be trusted, or he can be trusted to do the wrong thing.
    I really detest the SLS program, $2 billion for a temporary launch structure, bur we can not be in the power of Elon.
    When ,(and if) BO gets going, maybe we can stop SLS,such a waste of money. Really excited for NASA to get their nuclear thermal rocket going.
    Let’s get this next Starship launch going,light that candle!

  4. Great they’re back safely.

    But the silence from the government’s officials is deafening.

    Not a single one has come out congratulating them for something that would be a remarkable national achievement anywhere else.

    Yeah, been there done that. But I can’t avoid thinking the cheering would endless if it was other company doing this.
