Sandy Munro is a car expert whose company has taken apart thousands of cars to analyze how to improve the manufacturing and design.
Sandy was super-impressed by the Tesla robotaxi, robovan and teslabots.
He thinks the robovan will dominate and grow the limousine market. The All-in-podcast guys think the robovan will open up new markets for mobile offices and dominate the RV market. The US has over 11 million RVs. There are about 1 million buses.
A revived van and minivan market could reach 2 million sales per year.
The large flat electric platform could have anything built on top.
Sandy indicated that removing the steering in the robotaxi would save about $400. There would be more savings from removing two doors and the back seat. This would make it easy to get the price below $30,000.
Sandy thinks the charging will use inductive charging.
Sandy thinks the teslabots are phenomonal. This robot will be insanely useful and it is totally unique.

Robovan looks awesome for an enclosed city on Mars. Complete failure on Earth.
There is a reason cars have at least a 6-8 inch clearance over the ground,… pot holes.
The robovan looks like a clearance of a 4 inches. It will get tore to shreds in any modern city.
I like that Tesla is not afraid of redefining vehicles, BUT conquer the old design as well as introduce new designs.
For example the Cybertruck is cool but MOST TRUCK DRIVERS want a traditional looking truck.
Tesla should introduce a NEW electric truck that looks like a normal truck.
The maverick people can drive the Cybertruck and us boring normal people can drive the other truck.
Keep the robovan but add a NORMAL LOOKING van for us normal people.
Hi Brian
I wonder if you are following this
https://interestingengineering.com/energy/ev-with-unlimited-range-ecat-power
The demo itself looks genuine enough. It seems to relate a lot of the bases covered in your site too. EV’s, battery technology and novel power sources.
A follow of would be interesting i think.
Since it relates to an article on another site I’m not sure if it’s relevant to comment here but I thought you might find it interesting.
The only little quibble is it violates Physics. It’s not just unlikely to prove viable, it’s impossible. It will not happen. It’s by it’s nature a fraud without having to know anything else about it.
If the people doing the “demo” could really achieve even a tiny little far action of that effect in a legitimate repeatable way they wouldn’t need to put it in a vehicle like that. They would win the Nobel prize in Physics and be the richest people in the world. In fact they have been making money off variants of this scam for many years.
Does not look genuine in the least, looks totally fraudulent, like Rossi and ecat. We have genuine working fission plants ,why talk about non existent physics?
