Tesla has started the Robotaxi we robot event.

There are twenty Tesla cybercabs at the Robotaxi Event. There are thirty other autonomous Model 3 and Y at the event.

The cybercabs have no steering wheel.

  1. When Musk bought Twitter, I posted that it would be his downfall. Not any of his other half dozen or more companies, just Twitter, now X – whatever X means. Not only is it a timesink with little upside economically or psychologically, but it’s showing Musk’s adolescent understanding of politics, economics, and world affairs, his reactionary bend to the harder and harder right, alienating his natural green lefty base of customers now looking for alternatives to Teslas everywhere, even to lesser performing competitors. How many sales has Tesla lost because of Musk supporting Free Speech…which isn’t.
If Trump gets elected, we might lose the greatest living technologist to his cabinet, where he’ll slash and burn multiple agencies in his ignorance, until something really serious breaks: the military? NASA? The EPA? The Dept. of Education (if Trump doesn’t just abolish that anyway)? Then, even Trump will have to say “You’re fired.” That’s almost enough reason in itself not to vote for Trump.

  2. A high end golf cart manufacturer issued a warning that Solar Storms may interfere with their sensors. Are robotaxis hardened against that?

  3. Musk : “production not before 2027”. Considering the delays on semi/roadster and other things, it is safe to assume it will enter production in 2028 or even 2029. FSD level 5 in 2029, not 2024 or 2025.

    • In 2016 he promised by 2017 robotaxis would be available. He gave no reason why we should believe him anymore now than then.

    • Geez, you’re really full of negativity. Here we get a wonderful glance of the future and this is your take

    • The robots moved arms and upper body but i did not see them moving their feet, i would not call it dancing. I am sure at Boston Dynamic they are laughing hard. Tesla stock down 7% so people are starting to wake up.

      • Wall street is seldom kind in the wake of Tesla events and quarterly reports. At this point, I think it may be self-perpetuating: Stock holders know to expect a dip, so they race to sell ahead of the drop.

The only thing that would likely change the outcome would be an event where Tesla announces that ‘Over the next 3 weeks–next quarter, We will be putting/releasing product/service ‘X’ into mass production/deploying, unlocking tremendous added revenue of up to ‘Y’ dollars.’

And that is *never* what those events are about( nor is that a bad thing). Anybody who expects that from those events hasn’t been paying attention. 😀

    • Yep. Wall St. wasn’t kind to Tesla today. It was well deserved. They should not have bothered with the event. They had nothing of consequence to show off.
