Broadcom predicts serviceable market for AI XPU and networking could reach $60 billion to $90 billion by 2027 and company is a market leader. During Broadcom’s Q4 2024 earnings call, CEO Hock Tan revealed that three major hyperscale clients are planning multi-generational AI XPU deployments, aiming for 1 million XPU clusters by 2027. Broadcom collaborates with tech giants like Google and Meta to develop AI and custom data center hardware chip.
This means it is Google, Meta and probably Amazon or Microsoft that are the hyperscalers working with Broadcom.
There are three major hyperscaler customers, Broadcom also said that it had landed orders from two more ‘hyperscalers and is in advanced development for their own next-generation AI XPUs.’ It was rumored that ByteDance and OpenAI teamed up with Broadcom to develop their AI chips. Broadcom, of course, does not mention names.
