xAI Grok 3 is the number one ranked AI across categories.
xAI is still performing reinforcement learning and other continuing training to improve these models.
They are expanding their data center from 250 megawatts of 200,000 GPUs to 1.2 gigawatts and 1 million GPUs. This will be about 20 times the compute of the 200k chips now and 40 times the compute of the 100K used to pretrain Grok 3.
Grok 3 showed that scaling laws still apply. More compute means better AI.

Although it’s just a net, it’s the equivalent of an oversized cerebellum – all instinct in the flat model (non chain of reasoning version).
Or maybe just an overly complicated black box emulating a type of echo chamber…
For me, Openai is still king.
While this is a big improvement for x.ai, it does not give them the crown. Give it a couple weeks, and let the dust settle a bit.
But for me personally, it’s not close. Grok has no voice & no agents (Openai Operator).
Grok will have voice in 1-2 weeks, I hope it’s as good as Openai’s, but that’ll likely take a few months. Then the push is putting it in cars & robots. Putting Tesla in a great position. But in the next month Openai will release GPT-4.5, claiming top spot status. They are also on the verge of releasing infinite memory (something Google Gemini recently released).
Infinite memory is a very big deal, just as important as voice.
Elon is playing catchup, but he’s doing a great job catching up, a giant wallet helps a lot.
Sam Altman is developing some kind of wearable product, I think it will blow peoples minds when it drops. If it’s what I think it is, I’ll buy one.

We need a bit more time, so the hype will calm down and larger sample to get more accurate data.

There was improvement, but not such huge as you would think that extra gpu would give.
Still openAI, Anthropic, Google are ahead in actual coding, their models were trained on less compute, xAI has more compute, but coding is probably worse for now.
