The lowest priced Tesla cybertruck is priced below the base Rivian R1T ($71000) and about the level of the low end Ford F-150 Lightning.

• No air suspension (adaptive coil spring suspension)
• No rear light bar
• Standard bed with no tonneau cover included. Upgradeable to $750 soft tonneau (pictured below). This soft cover increases range to 363 miles (from 350)
• Textile seats (vs vegan leather on AWD trim)
• Headlights without signature lamps
• Standard bed lamps (vs premium lights on AWD)
• No L-track in bed
• No 2x 120V, 1x 240V outlets in the bed
• No 2x 120V outlets in the cabin
• No heated rear seats & no ventilated front seats
• Standard center console with no second row screen
• 7 speaker audio (vs 15 speakers on AWD trim)
• No active noise cancellation
• No mechanical front locking diff (due to only single motor)
• Lower 2,007 lbs payload (vs 2,500 on AWD trim)
• Lower 7,500 lbs towing capacity (vs 11k on AWD trim)

Is the glue for the panels still optional?
Problem was fixed months ago, they did a recall. They changed to a (hopefully) better adhesive, and also added a stud & nut. The old adhesive got brittle from very cold temps, only time will tell if the problem has been resolved.
wow. With all those things removed, I would’ve expected $59,990. Making it 52,490 after the tax credit, it would’ve sold great at that price. Maybe Tesla is struggling to find ways to shrink manufacturing costs on it?
The Cybertuck is becoming the Delorean of Trucks.
It was designed as an urban truck for people to use on weekend excursions and for small contractors to haul light loads around and use as a mobile generator.
As an urban truck it is too expensive.

Tax credits for EV should stop now.
FYI, electricity prices in PJM are high enough now (gas prices?, demand?, back room dealings?) such that the “Inflation Reduction Act” production tax credit (subsidy) is no longer projected to provide subsidy to generators (in PJM).
Most EV purchases are leases because of the way the tax credits are structured.

No idea what you can actually get from a Ford dealer. Ford’s number doesn’t appear to include the tax credits.

No, that’s the MSRP of the Ford Lightning. Remember, the Lightning is eligible for the $7500 tax credit too! All things considered, that means that the Cybertruck is about $7000 more than a Lighting. Within the same ballpark, but still quite a bit more expensive.
