Looks like there are new Grok 4 model versions (0702) – grok-4-0702 and grok-4-code-0702.
Rumor that xAI will release two versions.
➝ GROK 4 & GROK 4 code
Various reports and rumors of Grok 4 capabilities:
• Massive 131,000-token context window
• Built-in function calling for real-world tasks
• Advanced reasoning with structured, reliable outputs
• Currently text-only — multimodal (vision + image gen) is on the way
Text-only for now, vision & image gen coming soon

Actually, GROK 3 think mode is completely useless for coding. The standard mode is at least useful. SuperGROK 3 in think mode can’t follow instructions and keep source code or instructions in context. It can basically only respond to one problem in isolated form. Iterative work within a session seems to be impossible. It doesn’t matter what prompts you give him to make him remember and use previous prompts. Like a dement human…
I even let GROK tailor optimized such prompts for itself that was supposed to make him remember but it simply doesn’t work.
A couple of months ago, the think mode response was so slow it was useless. Now, it’s a lot faster but useless for an other reason. I guess they have added inference capacity so it produces more bugs per time.
Back to standard GROK and waiting eagerly for v4…
Can’t wait…
Current SuperGROK 3 has big limitations when used for coding.
