SpaceX Starlink has 7 million customers. They added 1 million since June 2025. This is on pace to about 9-10 million by the end of 2025.
The increasing speed of adding 1 million customers would reach
End of 2025: approximately 9.6 million
Middle of 2026: approximately 15.2 million
End of 2026: approximately 24.3 million
2026 will see faster Starlink bandwidth deployment with about 2000 Version 3 Starlink satellites.
If instead Starlink increases to an average of 2 million customers per month added in 2026, then there will be about 34 million customers at the end of 2026.
Starlink is connecting more than 7M people with reliable high-speed internet across ~150 countries, territories and many other markets.

Way too conservative figures. If we follow the curve in the graph, SpaceX will have 91 million customers by the end of 2026, adding 13 million every month.
By December of 2027, 628 million customers, 93 million new every month.
By December 2028, 4.3 billion customers, 660 million new every month.
By December 2029, 35 billion customers, 5.8 billion new customers every month!
Extrapolating numbers in Excel without context is a lot of fun 🙂
Seriously Brian, we need more context in this kinda of analysis.
What’s the customers profile right now?
How many more people FIT in that?
Won´t Trump commercial wars hurt that? Demanding SpaceX to block Starlink access to countries Trump wants to make “negotiations with”?
Thank you Rogerio. I believe Starlink is optimized for more remote locations and not really usable in densely populated areas like cities. So, to have billions of subscribers would probably not happen since most people around the Earth live in cities. But perhaps Starlink gets to the point where it can handle it….
Starlink can go direct to cellphone and this will enable reaching more customers with 4G and 5G speeds.
at what cost per user?
I am not saying Brian’s numbers are wrong. Maybe it will maintain at 1 million new subscribers per month.
But it just seemed like a hunch. He didn´t explain WHY he thought 1 million was a reasonable number, instead of 2 million, or 500k, etc
Again, I would just like a more deep analysis of potential users, which means, worldwide, both location and income.
Also, location of users would be interesting. WHERE are user bases increasing??
