Boeing’s has shown a new rendering of the F/A-XX 6th generation navy stealth fighter. It conceals canards, tail surfaces, and wing tips, but shows a bubble-shaped cockpit canopy similar to the F-47.
The radome appears narrower, and no vertical stabilizers show which should improve stealth.
The wingtips and canard placements are concealed, making it difficult to confirm final aerodynamic features.

Northrop Grumman’s is also still competing to make the F/A-XX. They have stealth-focused design with a broad nose, single-pilot space, large belly, and no canards.
What Northrop Grumman plans for the F/A-XX
The F/A-XX forms the core of the Navy’s NGAD systems. It will replace the F/A-18 Super Hornet and work with the Lockheed Martin F-35C.
The US military allocated over $3 billion for the F-47 in FY 2026 and only $76 million for F/A-XX.

The rendering of the Navy’s ngad shows dorsal inlets… Maneuverability must not have been a requirement for for the Navy…
Without a tail it looks prone to stalling with nose in the air. I suppose there are all kinds of computer systems to prevent that, but still, errant air currents and fast maneuvers are hard to predict. I’d like to know some flight performance figures.

Originally it is a training task from Swedish jet pilots, from the 1960’s, for better controlling/stabilizing their Saab 35 Draken (within super-stabile aerodynamic situations/jet alignment/orientation, ‘deep stall’) . These are grand efforts, almost-miraculous achievements of intellect in the defense of the greatest republic in the history of the world.
But how much longer can we sustain that, what with radical wackos and the loony left keeping a chokehold on our schools and universities?
