Oracle is in about 5th place, after AWS, Azure, Google, Aliyun. kind of in the same game as IBM cloud. They bet big on AI it seems.
Now talk about AI bets, Faceplant, er now Meta is building a data center in Graniteville SC. It’s under construction. Just this week, 30 miles away in Appling GA (right next to the Amazon distribution center), Columbia County approved another data center. Why two within 30 miles of each other? Why South Carolina and Georgia? I’m thinking water and cheap nuclear power (Dominion in SC, Georgia Power … think plant Vogel in Waynesboro .. in GA).
