Tesla’s stock has been stuck in narrow range. What could break it out?
Full Self-Driving (FSD) software challenges, AI data center energy needs, nuclear power developments, H-1B visa reforms, and broader commentary.
Tesla traders are seeing shares stuck at $440 (unlikely to break without major news), with support levels at $423–$424 and $410. Are dips buying opportunities? Especially ahead of October 2nd delivery numbers, which look like a big beat is forming.
There are large numbers of Model Y castings spotted by Joe Tegtmeyer.

Joe Tegtmeyer’s drone footage and posts from Giga Texas frequently capture ongoing Model Y casting production, which has ramped up significantly in 2025 amid Tesla’s push for higher volumes. He documented racks of fresh Model Y castings being pulled into the factory, signaling aggressive Q3 output to meet demand. Q3 castings ramp suggests trial production of the stripped down lower cost Y and/or the compact Y.

The features of the lower cost Y have been revealed in the firmware.
The projected pricing without subsidies would be about $5000-6000 lower.
Projected Pricing: USA vs. China.
USA: Current low-end RWD = $44,990 (incl. $1,390 destination; no credits). E41 savings justify $3,000-$6,000 haircut for volume
$37k-$39,990 base (RWD; AWD +$4k).
This can be a fleet special” for Robotaxi.
Launch Q4 2025 at Fremont; tariffs inflate vs. China build.
China: Current price for RWD = 263,500 CNY ($36,500 USD). Giga Shanghai localization shaves extra 10% on BOM.
Estimate : 229,900 CNY ($31,800 USD). It could go as low at $210-220k CNY or $30000)
Deliveries could start Oct 2025.
Does Tesla have the production capacity to take advantage of those cheaper cars. Can China go from 950K per year to 1.5 million per year. Need to have the volume production. Berlin and Texas can add full shifts and have plenty of room for lines. Texas should be focused on cybercab and current production. Cheaper cars mainly more volume in China, Asia and Europe.
