Elon Musk had talked about getting XAI Grok 4.20 out by the end of 2025. It has now been pushed back to mid-February. It will be two months late (or more).
It has more training so it will likely be a better model than what would have been released two months ago.
There is also XAI Grok 5, which was originally planned for March 2026. The XAI Grok 5 model will likely be delayed to April to June 2026.
There is talk that XAI will merge with SpaceX.
This likely happens as two private companies merging like Elon merged X (aka Twitter) with XAI.
We had some power uptime issues due to the extremely cold weather and some construction equipment taking out power lines.
As a result, Grok 4.20 training is a few weeks delayed to mid Feb.

GROK 4.20 JUST SMOKED GPT‑5, CLAUDE, AND GEMINI
It beat GPT-5, Gemini 3, and Claude in forecasting real-world events.
Only actual humans who do this for a living are ahead of it.
And Elon says the best parts of Grok 4.20 aren’t even online yet.
