Tesla Cybercab production lines are already running. Actual manufacturing and scaling are underway (not just prototypes). There will be a significant announcement that is related to GigaTexas scaling on July 7th. One week from today.
Tesla is super confident about dominating operational cost dominance with Cybercab. Tesla will crush others with the lowest cost per mile.
Output per square meter of factory will be ridiculous. They only have about 20 some work cells to build Cybercab.
The Tesla cars have full self hearing. This gives audio diagnosis about defects in the car like loose parts.
Tesla has made a lot of progress to get the first line of the Optimus production line and has 40 more parts production lines to stand up.
Production of Cybercabs began at Giga Texas (started around February 2026 and ramped significantly since April 2026).
Hundreds of Cybercabs have been spotted staging/massing at Giga Texas (reports of 70+ in one location, with similar clusters elsewhere in Texas).
The vehicle is being prepared for unsupervised robotaxi operations with protocols already added for first responders in Texas. Unsupervised rides already live in Austin, with expansion to Dallas/Houston.
Giga Texas factory has already produced its 500,000th vehicle (as of October 2025) and has capacity for up to 10,000 vehicles per week, with localized 4680 cell production.
Possible topics for the July 7 update are further Cybercab production ramp, dedicated manufacturing lines, or other scaling milestones.

This certainly could potentially overtake human-operated taxi services. There is already a lot of Waymo traffic here. But, what it will never be able to do is usher in the end of the majority of people with cars outright owning them (cars that can’t be remotely shut off), nor will it ever result in further limitations on freedom of travel [in the U.S. since that’s where I usually comment from].

Brian is Bullish on Elon Musk enterprises. Your point about the use of the word “already” seems to be that Musk often gives overly optimistic target dates. He effectively gives targets based on No Earlier Than estimates, what is the earliest possible date if everything works as anticipated. Musk fans take this into account. From the POV of people who are bullish on Musk enterprises the impressive thing is steady progress toward seemingly impossible goals, not that they take longer than estimated to achieve.
