AI data centers and compute represent a much bigger and faster-growing opportunity for Tesla than robotaxis. AI can generate $50–100 billion in annual revenue per gigawatt of power — dramatically outpacing typical robotaxi economics.
Massive Untapped Grid Capacity
The U.S. grid can unlock tens to ~100 GW of new AI data center load without building huge new power plants right away. Tesla can use Virtual power plants (VPP), Tesla batteries and energy storage, Smart software/load shifting (especially curtailing during evening peak hours) and Flexible demand management.
Tesla’s Unique Advantages for Rapid Scaling are Megapods / Megablocks. Factory-built modular units that allow extremely fast deployment of gigawatt-scale AI data centers and power infrastructure.
Full integration across Tesla Energy (batteries, solar, Megapacks), AI hardware (Dojo, inference chips), software, and energy products. and the potential to add 10–20 GW per year on Earth.

This is day dreaming. Tesla is failing with cars. But the bulls say: ignore car data, the future is Optimus and Robotaxi. I read Optimus has serious delays. There is little progress with Robotaxi.
So now you produce article the future for Tesla is AI.
I am getting tired of the bull thesis for Tesla. Completely detached from reality.
I think in the end Elon will be forced to get SpaceX to buy Tesla to bail it out.
Nvidea just released a new chip that will use 100% recycled water, meaning the water use problem has been solved, or will be as soon as these chips replace the legacy chips. It also uses 40% less power. And using less power is the real race, not using more power in larger or same-sized data centers. Nvidea sells at a much lower multiple than Tesla and is arguably a better but on any dip too. The new hardware is not even factored into the mainstream press yet.
As long as curtailing during evening peak hours doesn’t mean my thermostat not being in my control I’m OK with this.
