Claude Cowork is often strongest for high-quality writing, long-document analysis, coding-adjacent knowledge work, and local-file-heavy tasks. Computer use is solid (research preview on Pro/Max), connectors are mature, and the experience prioritizes precision + safety. More accessible pricing (starts around Pro tier) and excellent instruction-following.
Microsoft Copilot wins if your team lives in Microsoft 365. Native access to email, calendar, documents, Teams, and enterprise data with strong security, compliance (Purview, Entra), and governance is unmatched. Scout adds proactive always-on behavior. Computer-using agents in Copilot Studio are generally available for broader GUI automation. Best enterprise fit, but less flexible outside the Microsoft ecosystem and pricing is layered on existing M365 licenses.
