The Tesla Robotaxi tracker does not capture all Tesla Robotaxi but still identified 195 unsupervised robotaxi. Tesla doubled the vehicles in the last month and quadrupled in the last four months. It is a crowdsourced identification of unique robotaxi where people must submit vehicles and license plates to the system.
The system has identified about 1145 out of 3800 claimed Waymo vehicles. Waymo are easier to identify as they have distinctive hardware.
This would mean that Tesla could have three times as many vehicles in operation as the Robotaxi tracker has identified. They have not identified many in service Cybercabs. Those would be easily identified.
There are 900-1000 Cybercabs in testing and seen at parking lots in and near the Tesla robotaxi service areas.
In the last two weeks, there has been an increase to over 100 unsupervised Tesla robotaxi in Austin and Dallas an Houston each have over 30 vehicles.
On Thursday, there will be a September 3, 2026 Cybercab event. Tesla should be choosing to deploy Cybercabs to the existing robotaxi cities. IF they are already using 200 to 400+ Model Ys in unsupervised mode then doubling up with Cybercabs should not be difficult.
