There was a fatal Tesla car accident by a Tesla employee. The driver had a blood alcohol level of 0.26, more than 3x the legal limit. The FSD software was never downloaded. FSD Beta could not have been activated because the software was never downloaded.
NEWS: Rohan (a Tesla executive) also says yesterday's Washington Post FSD Beta article is inaccurate and that FSD Beta was not dowloaded on the individuals car. https://t.co/GPgsybJSID

The driver had a blood alcohol level of 0.26, more than 3x the legal limit, but sure blame FSD 🤦‍♂️
WAPO didn’t give any direct evidence that FSD Beta was engaged when the crash happened. Moral of the whole story, don’t drink and drive. pic.twitter.com/dE1PTdI8II

He was not on FSD. The software had unfortunately never been downloaded. I say “unfortunately”, because the accident probably would not have happened if FSD had been engaged.

It shows that a combination of.
Autonomy and drunk driving like any other type of autonomy driving is risky.
You’re not telling me the media got the story wrong, are you? In a way that just happens to make for a sexy headline? I can’t possibly believe that could ever happen. No. Not ever.
Wow, how drunk do you have to be to own a Tesla with FSD, and not even engage it when you wasted…dumb on top of dumb.
He had not downloaded FSD
So who’s to “blame” for this? The guy who gets into a car, and because he’s drunk knows he knows he should not drive (smart) but trusts his car to get him home? Because he trusts Tesla’s overhyped bull s***?
When people used horses for transport not long ago if a person got drunk at a pub, w/the help of his friends, they might tie him to his saddle, but the horse would know how to get both of them home. Is our tech capable of being so adaptive, to unexpected threats, now? Nope.
No I’m not saying “get a horse”. I’m insisting that we require that those who give us technology that could get anyone killed if it f**** up, we need to know what we’re dealing with. That means ask the right questions, and DEMAND the right answers.
The real question is: why is a drunk driver killed in a car crash newsworthy? If it was on FSD at the time, maybe, but it wasn’t.
There are thousands of those every year, but the one on a Tesla makes the news.
Perhaps it’s newsworthy because the guy was in a car that was supposed to know how to drive itself. THATS why it is (I guess…) newsworthy.
The car did not have FSD installed.
Now is a good time to sell Tesla.
Yes yes it was drunk driving and wasn’t running the latest software but the real question to ask is if somebody can sue Elon personally in a Delaware court.
He should ask immunity from Trump when he will be elected president.
I genuinely hope you find something to live for other than Orange Man Bad.
