Car Wow, youtube channel, has a reveal of the new Tesla Model 3.
It will have the same price but more range. It will go on sale in Europe in October. The starting price will be 42000 british pounds.
Tesla has changed 50% of the parts on the car. Tesla is also releasing two new colors: Ultra Red and Stealth Gray.
Sawyer Merritt confirms that this is it.
The new Model 3 is the most aerodynamic Tesla. It has a coefficient of drag of 0.219.
There are large reductions in noise from outside the car.
The base price for China will be 259k rmb. This is 9% more than the 231k rmb.
Range is increased by 13%. The car is lighter, more luxurious and more aerodynamic but with a lower build cost.

In an interview I heard recently “Doomberg” said that given the supply chain issues with making enough batteries, eg: mining enough lithium, there would be more saving of petroleum by building plug-in-hybrid cars rather than all electric cars. At least for the next decade or so.
This sounds plausible to me. It would also save the expense of building lots of specialized fast chargers.
Does anyone see something wrong with this argument?
I think I’d prefer fewer features, shorter range, and actually being able to afford the thing.
Some Used Tesla Model 3 with FSD for as little as $15k. Battery packs should last to 500,000 miles or more.
When the next gen vehicle comes out used Tesla Model 3 pre-refresh will be sub $10k. Still fully usable 200+ miles of range.
Maybe I’d consider that, if they’re still in that price range when I buy my next car.
If it will go on sale in Europe why the price is in GBP?
Car Wow creators are based in the UK.
Nice, was hoping they would also lower the price, but even without that, I’m sure they will sell them as fast as the can build them.
Does anyone believe those range/mileage numbers are accurate?
yes.
Here’s a link to a recent Reuters story about problems with EV manufacturers overestimating range. Everyone’s got problems, but it seems Tesla is the worst offender.

I think they’re probably accurate under ideal circumstances, and a joke if you need heating or air conditioning.
Heating, of course, is practically free for ICE vehicles, it’s just diverting some of the waste heat. Air conditioning taps engine power, but the range hit isn’t remotely as bad for ICE as for EVs, because EVs rely on extreme efficiency to achieve their range, so the power load from air conditioning faces a smaller denominator.
ICE vehicles could even use Ammonia based air conditioning, and not waste power for that, too, except that it’s a bit more bulky and expensive.
My model 3 (LFP battery) gets the rated range or slightly better under ideal warm spring conditions. Gets close to rated range in summer unless it’s really hot. Gets terrible range in winter when it’s -20. At least -40% range in those conditions.
hopefully – with some careful driving it’ll get from LA to Silicon Valley.
No. Those are on the European WLPT test standard. Discount about 12% to get to the US EPA standard which is more realistic.
Is the “rear wheel drive” variant also the LFP variant?
