Tesla has FSD (full self driving) mainly in North America. About 10-20% of Tesla buyers in the US and Canada buy FSD. If Tesla can successfully grow FSD in China and Europe to match the levels of adoption in the USA then this would triple FSD sales.
Tesla has begun including Full Self-Driving (FSD) beta information in some of its newer owner’s manuals across Europe, China and Australia.

Regulatory approval in China for FSD would be a way for Xi’s government to signal it wants a good relationship with Tesla and Musk and by extension with other Western investment. Tesla may be reacting to signals that they are doing this.
