The US Department of Energy (DOE) and the UK Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) have made a new strategic partnership to accelerate the demonstration and commercialization of fusion energy.
The partnership marks the UK’s first formal international fusion collaboration since the recent launch of the GBP650 million (USD799 million) Fusion Futures Programme. This is on top of the GBP700 million that has already been allocated to UK fusion energy programmes between 2022 and 2025.
US and UK scientists and engineers will work together and share access to facilities and stimulate new R&D opportunities. There will be international regulatory frameworks and codes of practice, develop resilient supply chains for fusion materials to support the industry long-term and promote skills development.
After UK Brexit, the UK has separated many EU (European Union) science collaborations.

The Electric Viking discusses a fusion system from ENG8 based on water that supposedly returns 500% over initial energy input. I know; it sounds ridiculous but as Sam Evans points out, it’s under the U.K. energy authority and validated by the U.K. government and Underwriters Laboratory.

As Evans points out in the video, if true, we can scrap all solar, wind and batteries in a few years in favor of endless energy. The technical details are summarized in the second half of the video, but only for a few minutes so this needs a LOT of verification.
True or hype-false?
