Big Tesla FSD Version 12.3 Releasing Now

Elon Musk says that the FSD beta version is a big release that should be called version 13.

AI expert James Douma expects the Tesla version 12.X all neural net system will be able to improve rapidly and eliminate the problems for 99% or more of the interventions needed in version 11. The speed of improvement without hardcoding has been reported as ten times faster than in early 2023.

Tesla should have over 15000 Nvidia H100 chips to provide over 60 exaflops of training.

AI training compute is the factor limiting the speed of improvement.

IF Douma and some other are right and we are on path to 99% few disengagements over say 3 months, then there should be 80% less every month. The system should be safer and smoother with no disadvantages relative to version 11. This would mean wide release in April/May and removing beta in June/July.

  1. As a long term tesla shareholder and supporter, I don’t take Elon’s big announcements too seriously. He has said this before for multiple fsd versions and continues to do so.

  2. Highly anticipated. 11 to 12 is a huge paradigm shift and will finally put autonomous driving in the hands of Tesla Owners. Waymo is there with limits, the biggest being how many there are and can be built and at higher costs. Tesla has a huge fleet in comparison and only awaiting the software release to put it there while continually improving from data of such wide spread use. I can also imagine a future where there will be capabilities using intercommunication for hazards like fog banks and ice. Also, a smart car could also be aware, someday, of the timing of lights and other traffic realities.
