Nvidia’s AI Platform for All Major Humanoid Bots Except Teslabot

Nvidia has made a software, AI and hardware platform to make developing humanoid robots far faster and easier.

They have software to help with the testing, learning and development.

  1. When Optimus was first announced, it was so alone in the field it seemed like a joke. Musk and Tesla were observing that solving machine vision to make robust Robotaxi autonomous vehicles would coincidentally make humanoid robots practical and if they were mass produced – they would be a drop in replacement for most human labor and have effectively unlimited demand. That took awhile to sink in but caused a wave of humanoid robot startups. The Nvidia announcement makes it mainstream. Tesla won’t be alone. There will be a whole global competitive market ecology driving robotics faster. Tesla will have to work faster. As with Automotive, there will be a supplier infrastructure for all the components – Robot OEMs won’t need to be vertically integrated and massively capitalized. Nvidia won’t lack competition itself at this tier for long.

  2. It is very strange that is had nearly every known humanoid robot, at least the ones who have made waves…and yet no Teslabot.
Was that a snub to Elon?
I doubt it, since he buys a lot of Nvidia’s products.
I’m thinking they asked, and Elon said No Thanks.
He probably thinks they are in 1st place, and when your in 1st, you don’t want everyone behind you to catch up.

I think this is awesome of Nvidia to do, it will likely mean more companies to join in the robot fun. While before, you might love hardware, but the software task might have seemed as hard as splitting the atom, so you never entered the fray, but now you will.
